The Maltese is affectionate, intelligent and sturdy enough to enjoy a romp with the youngest family member.  The breed measures up to 10 inches at the shoulder and weighs up to 7 pounds.  Its pure white, silky coat is long, hanging straight to the ground.  His dark eyes and pigmentation of nose, lips and eyerims enhance the beautiful expression.
